Greetings,

We, The Hacker Within, are a student organization here at UW-Madison. Our main focus is to share and teach skills related to developing software, working on scientific computation codes, and learning good programming practices in general.

From January 12-14, we will be hosting a workshop on the computer language Python. We thought that some students in your department would find such a service useful and may want to attend (it's free!). Accordingly, we would like to ask for your assistance in sending this email to your department's listserv to help us publicize the event, if possible. I'll list a little information about Python and the workshop below.

• What: Python Bootcamp (Workshop)

• When: January 12-14 (Yes, this is the last week of winter break)

• Where: Mechanical Engineering, Rm. 1106

• Why: To gain a working knowledge of the popular computer language Python and its possible applications

• Who: Anyone interested who has a basic understanding of programming concepts such as variable, functions, loops (for, while), and conditionals (if, else)
