- Several people have requested a meeting on using your graphics card for scientific computing. Luckily, there is a professor at UW that teaches a class on this very topic. He has agreed to speak at our meeting on Sept. 25th 2009.
- Puneet Kishor has offered to speak about his favorite tool - the Perl Data Language (PDL)
- Matt Terry has offered to speak about the text editor - VIM
- Katy Huff really wants to hear about mapping simulation data on a globe. Volunteer with hacker.within.admin@… and pass on your knowledge of geophysical data mapping, plotting data onto google earth with KML, and Python plotting tools for global simulations. Pretty please?
- Kyle Oliver suggested a meeting on profiling/debugging tools, such as gprof, gdb, ddd, etc...
- Steve has offered to give an introductory presentation on using Open-GL
- Stu would like to hear about multilingual (Python, C++, Fortran) coding workflows.
- Matt is interested in everyone's research. What languages and tools do you use? What's your workflow?
