Debugging with Python-Enabled gdb Pretty Printers

Presented By: Matthew M. McCormick

Matt has contributed to the Archer project which includes an effort to improve gdb with python extensions. He has contributed some functionality that should help with debugging C++ Standard Template Library objects as well as exporting objects to iPython and employing custom plotting tools all hooked into the gdb debugger. Matt has set up a screencast to demonstrate this functionality. It can be found on http://ia360937.us.archive.org/0/items/VisualDebuggingWithCustomPrettyPrinters/ and watched by clicking or downloading the file 'visual_debugging_with_custom_pretty_printers.ogv.'
